Penelope Cruz in Bottegna Veneta Resort 2010

Penelope Cruz in Bottegna Veneta Resort 2010 **Photo coutesy of Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Just a quick little fashion tip:

Most of the time, and I do mean MOST-it is best to wear a designers creation as they have presented it to the public.(Please refer to photo on left.)

Miss. Cruz is always a fashion favorite but I must say that just cuffing the pant doesn’t work for me. It looks like she just didn’t have enough time to hem her pants. Now really Penelope-(who I believe resides most of the year in Italy and Spain) to think she can’t find a tailor? Please call the Vatican! It’s a sin not to have someone so gorgeous look less than picture perfect.

So remember going forward-if you see a certain ensemble put together by the DESIGNER…(unless you have Patricia Fields in your back pocket who has the reputation to rework any outfit within  an inch of it’s fashion life)-stick to what the designers presentation is-that’s why they are called designers in the first place.

Got it?

Good!

Halle Berry

Exhibit A-Halle Berry-being human!

Halle Berry with a little effort
Halle Berry -putting it together!

Here we are the end of the week and perhaps sometime in the past few days you were browsing through your favorite magazine, or watching the Style Channel on E or just thinking about how celebrities are so much prettier…skinner…taller…(insert whatever quality you may be thinking at the moment) but in a word “Better” than you. Well my darling fashion friends…I have just two words for you to remember: Photoshop and Retouch!

It’s the weekend, and in my never ending quest to make you feel like the true glamour girl that you are just remember-”Even one of the most beautiful women on the planet can look- ho hum.”

(*Exhibit A) -is just a simple little display that we are all human-even the celebs…with gobs of cash, free designer duds, sensational stylists and the best personal trainers at their fingertips. 24/7.

Now don’t you feel better? Hope so! Have a great weekend.

It’s Better to Buy Blue-than to Be Blue!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

Everybody knows that a little “pop” of color can really brighten one’s mood. But I must ask, are all the fashion designers on PROZAK? Every collection for the upcoming Fall season has color and lots of it! We are not talking a simple baby blue, or pretty pink or mellow yellow. NO! We are looking at Neon Pink, Bright Blue, and a Yellow that can literally yell:”Hell.o.o.o.o!

I know we are all trying to get through this little glitch-aka recession, and maybe, just maybe wearing a little more color will actually lift your spirits. Look at it this way: It’s better to “wear blue” than to “be blue.”

Go buy yourself some happy!

Pencil You In!

The Perfect Pencil Skirt. Ann Taylor $110.00

The Perfect Pencil Skirt. Ann Taylor $110.00

Here we go! It’s almost the end of July and even though the temp today in SUNNY California is 101 degrees, I am finally ready (and I hope you are)- to talk Fall Fashion 2009-2010.

First up-The Pencil Skirt.

A fashion staple that will look good on EVEYBODY- promise! All you have to remember are two simple rules to make this fashion item look good and last forever:

Ready? Grab your pencil and take note:

Rule #1: Make sure your pencil skirt fits! Meaning: It should sit comfortably around the waist and glide past your hip to reach knee or just above knee length. Translation:- no pulling, gaping, bunching of fabric at the hip, derriere(bum/booty) whatever you want to call it … or any other area heading down to the knee.  If you need a larger size that will alleviate the gaposis problem then purchase skirt to fit your widest area and have the waist altered to fit you. There is this amazing resource called a TAILOR. A good tailor doesn’t cost a fortune and can alter the waist and length in no time flat.

Rule #2: Optimal skirt length on every woman is just above or at the knee. If it’s to long…..-H.E.M. it.

A good pencil skirt will last a lifetime.

Be Healed!

A  Heel Horror Story….

There you are walking down the street in your brand new  pair of high heeled pumps. You know “the pair” that you justified in your head for about 40 minutes in the store before you decided to “go for it.” Convincing yourself that you just had to have them because: “They would go with EVERYTHING in your closet, and they made your legs look 5 inches longer and they were like 2 months salary (but hey-you wanted to cut your food budget anyway and YES!!! you could  LIVE on $5.00 a week  for the next 3 months). You would wear them forever and they were so beautiful they would probably be worth double in 10 years…” (Does any of this sound vaguely familiar in justifying a shoe splurge???)

So here you are- day one -of your “new shoe preview” to the adoring public. You are strolling down the street in your pretty new pumps and BAMB …..all of a sudden your beautiful high heel goes for a dip…and by dip, I don’t mean in a pool- but in a crease/crevice left from some sidewalk earthquake or relative facsimile. Suddenly your brand new pair of heels have been hit…slammed… nicked…scratched……in a word…Ruined! What??? Please tell me it isn’t happening……

This scenario need not happen again because help with a capital H for Heels has arrived. The “ideal heel” is this ingenious plastic cover for your heel(s). No one will be the wiser when you are wearing the ideal heel becasue they come in a range of colors and slip on easily over your shoe heel to protect them from the “elements.”Upon reaching a smooth surfaced destination you can just remove the ideal heel and store them in your purse or pocket until your next jaunt out into the crevice filled unknown.  Log onto the website and be heeled!!!

Leopard Print in my Coffin!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

 christian-lououtin-suede-ankle-boots1

*Please note:  I want to clarify that I am speaking of Faux animal prints so PETA People-please relax….I am on your side!

I absolutely adore animal prints. Zebra, Cheetah, Leopard-LOVE THEM!!!. There is just something about the animal print that spells happy! So imagine my sheer delight when the  2009-2010 Fall fashion trends pick leopard as the standout print of the season!

Leopard  has been my  favorite animal print for as long as I can remember. I have often said that when my time comes “to go” to….( where ever it is  that you go- when your days are over) I am taking ALL my leopard print items and my Chanel belt, “just in case.” If I would place bets that there’s something resembling an “afterlife”-odds are definitely in my favor that the Leopard print and Chanel belt will still work their magic.  Think about it, Leopard looks good on and with everything. It’s versatile with a capital V as in “adding VaVoom to any outfit,(unless of course you love wearing Calico and then you aren’t terribly concerned with VaVoom). Leopard is sheer perfection  with basic black. It can make any outfit POP when paired with pink or red, or brown or beige or navy or …well you get the picture. You just know that when you add a leopard accessory i.e. belt, watch, purse, umbrella. .you will be noticed in the best of ways! Unless of course you are wearing more than one animal print at the same time..i.e. leopard with cheetah and zebra…Just promise me when you feel the need for faux animal anything -only one animal print at a time! I know it works in the jungle- but honey do you really want to be in the jungle -all dolled up in your animal print? I think not!

So there it is “The Print” of the Fall 2009-2010 season. Leopard!  Buy it, wear it, love it, save it.. I will be buried with it ..because I could just die for a really great leopard print.
