A.h.h.h.h. The Perfect Boyfriend. He’s always right there (hanging in your closet) waiting for you. He makes you look fabulous and he never, ever gives you anything but pleasure. Are you dreaming?   No. You’re just purchasing one of the hottest  Fall trends.

The boyfriend jacket is so versatile. You can dress it up with a pencil skirt or down with jeans or leggings. It can cover a multitude of sins (if you even have any) by covering the hip area and hitting at mid thigh. Just make sure that your boyfriend isn’t too big or boxy because it will make you look the same. A good boyfriend is like a “marriage made in heaven”- and let’s face it -when you finally come across a really special boyfriend, that just seems to fit- isn’t that the ending we are all looking for anyway?

Wardrobe Basic-The White Blouse

 Ralph Lauren

*The White Blouse-O.K….. So quit yawning. You must be thinking a white blouse- how utterly basic. That’s right! It is basic, and my darling girl you must have a great fitting white blouse no matter what your size or shape. Here are a few tips to make sure you plop down your money on one that lasts.

My motto when it comes to the basics is, “Buy well…. Buy once.”

•1.     A white blouse should be 90-95 percent cotton with 5-10 percent spandex… Why? Because it will hold its shape better and not wrinkle. Promise.

•2.      Buy a white blouse that is fitted close to the body (that doesn’t mean tight) it means skimming your curves and has darts at the bust. Look for a princess seam.

•3.     Check the stitching on the blouse that they are even and there are no skipped needle marks.

•4.     Even if it says Dry Clean only-Don’t! Dry cleaning solvent yellows a white blouse. Instead- hand wash in cold water. Line Dry.

•5.     Buy the best white blouse that you can possibly afford.

•6.     Make sure your white blouse is long enough to tuck into your shirt or pants.

•7.     If you find a white blouse that  fits like a dream -buy two. You will so thank me in the morning.

Cate ..What were you thinking?

Posted By: Terri

Cate Blanchett, who is known for her high style and impeccable taste probably wanted to make her Grandmother happy. That is the only reason that I can possibly think of  as to why  she would choose to wear this one piece afghan as a dress. Oh Cate you’re a Doll, but tell Grand mummy that she should use her knitting needles to make a scarf or perhaps a hat..

Ick – snay on the  one shoulder crochet!

Emmy Wrap Up…..

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

Emmy Night was Hot! I’m not just referring to the temperature outside but to the beautiful gowns on the attendees. Even with temperatures soaring into the 90′s and stars standing in line from 2 in the afternoon until  the show opening at 5 to answer  the all important question: “Who are you wearing?” the stars managed to keep their make up from melting and their dresses from soiling with sweat. The season’s trend of head to toe shine was apparent in gowns made of Silver or Gold beading. Beautiful silhouettes were draped in colors of midnight blue, vibrant green, royal purple, basic black, ethereal white and the hottest color of the season-RED.

Stylists kept statement jewelry to a minimum… I guess it wouldn’t be wise to sport a 12 million dollar diamond necklace-(even though it is borrowed for the evening) when viewers are home scaling back on their party menus to include only chips and dip.

Emmy’s Hot Mess!

Sarah SIlverman-You are funny-does not mean you have to look funny..Was this a Prom dress that you neevr got to wear? Or perhaps you wanted to look as if you were as big as the Titanic-which is really a shame -becasue you are a wisp of a girl.

Sarah Sillverman-You are a terrific comedian. However-just becasue you are funny doesn't mean you have to look funny. Was this a Prom dress that you never got to wear?

Patricia Arquette-This dress did not fit-her breasts almost had their own zip code and looked as if they were ready to POP..as in out of the dress.
Patricia Arquette- Your show is named Medium-that my dear is NOT your bra size!

Kate Walsh-Poor fit, bad choice of color, not figure flattering-other than that... it was perfection.

Kate Walsh-Poor fit. Bad color choice. The bottom half could be drapes..are you up for the Scarlett O'Hara remake? Other than that... it was perfection. NOT!

The September Issue….

Category: Uncategorized

sept_issue_0824

The September Issue- The Movie! A must see!!!!

Ten things you will learn from watching this 90 minute fashion extravaganza about the making of Vogue’s largest most anticipated issue of the year.

•1.     Grace Coddington is the absolute genius behind some of the most amazing fashion spreads in Vogue. The woman has an incredible eye for how to tell a story in one picture with fashion. The next time you are flipping  through the pages of Vogue-and  when you come across a fashion spread that looks like a picture that could hang on a wall at the Metropolitan Museum of Art-10 out of 10 times it’s styled by Ms. Grace!

•2.     There are edits and re-edits and never ending arbitration on how the “book” (code word     for magazine) turns out.

•3.     There are so many people to please in fashion-some of which know nothing about fashion at all.

•4.     Andre Leon Tally is a hoot!

•5.     Oscar de la Renta is organized, prepared and totally buttoned up-professionally speaking.. John Galliano is not! Bottom line-that’s why it’s called a creative process-some process quickly-some…. not so much.

•6.       Anna Wintour is very serious about what she does. BUT her daughter seems to be well adjusted…so maybe there are two Anna’s. Focused no nonsense Anna at work and perhaps loving Anna at home-well at least we can hope.

•7.     Coffee is the “food” of choice…for all those working at Vogue.

•8.     Everyone looks tired at Vogue

•9.     Everything is retouched! So quit beating yourself up that you don’t look perfect. Neither do celebrities, models or anyone else between the pages of any magazine in print!

•10.   Clothing is Art.
