High Heel Quiz!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

Here is a quick little question to ponder.

How high is too high ,when it comes to high heels????

Answer: WHEN YOU FALL WHEN ATTEMPING TO WALK.

Let’s face it, Glamour Girls  can practically sprint down the sidewalk in a mere 3 inch heel. In 5 inch heels – we alter our sprint down to a quick gait.. In 7 inch heels- we abort the thought of even trying to run and CONCENTRATE on just staying upright. However,as the new 10 inch heel appeared on the runways of China’s Fashion Week-all the models could do was fall. Yes, you heard me. F.A.L.L. Those poor 5’10” models that weigh 98 pounds had to prance down the catwalk in 10 inch heels and SURPRISE-there was more spillage on the runway than a Victoria’s Secret Bra snapped to tight. Granted-it was the Showing of the Fall Collections in China but who would have thought that the footwear designers would take it so literally.

Fashionable Aprons!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

It was only a matter of time until someone-(well in this case allot of someone’s) would finally jazz up what we all knew as the “apron.” This little  piece of attire was  reserved for one’s darling grandmother – often made of cotton or worse yet plastic -with very large pockets and stamped with a lackluster print. The apron was a totally utilitarian piece of clothing used to “protect” grandma’s dress from  spills, splashes and sprinkles that happened during cooking.

Well Glamour Girl, grandma’s drab apron days are long gone. You can now buy aprons in every print and pattern imaginable. Can you believe I even found aprons made of sequins-(not kidding). Who knew that aprons have become such a rage that when you Google fashionable aprons you come up with about 1,052 choices of vendors touting their fashionable, fun and festive aprons. Well honey, all I can say with so many  aprons to choose from…”If that doesn’t get you cooking-nothing will.”

From the upcoming SATC 2- Charlotte wearing a cupcake apron. Yummy!

Spring’s Best Cover!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

Can you believe it’s almost April? Tick. Tock-time flies so quickly! We are barely out of Winter and the fashion mags (aka- Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, Glamour, ets.etc.etc.) are ramping up their summer fashion spreads. To that end, (and if anyone is asking) my personal favorite Spring cover was hands down the Bazaar January issue with Kate Hudson. Nothing but nothing -screams ”Spring” better than a white beaded mini with a plunging V-neck, metallic five inch pumps  and buckets of flowers-street side in New York City!

Lounging for Louis!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

We all know that being a model is EXHAUSTING! Let’s face it, most of the time you have to have your hair and make-up done. Then you have to wear expensive, beautiful, exquisite, designer clothes or accessories or shoes-whatever they are dressing you in-(because God forbid the whole ordeal to sit up and look pretty is such back breaking work they don’t want you to “overdo it” and possibly break a sweat or worse- break a nail) before you get in front of the camera..

Apparently designer Louis Vuitton, understands this concept more than anyone else because as you look at all his ads- every single one depicts a model “lounging.” So remember…When you Model for Louis- RELAX.

Hello Spring!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

Spring officially arrives in 4 days…but then again who’s counting???? Well, HELLO!!! – Everyone! It has been a brutal winter with most of the cold climates deluged with snow and sleet and record breaking  storms that seemed to go on for weeks. Not to mention, wearing layer upon layer (although a fashionable layer at that) of cashmere and wool sweaters and scarves and coats. Just getting dressed with all those warm layers takes an extra 20 minutes each day. I wonder if that’s why the start of Spring begins right after we change our clocks to Daylight Savings time? Maybe it has nothing to do with longer days. Maybe the “daylight saving”   is really in reference to the actual time it takes to get dressed in the morning….

Let’s face it-we love the thought of warmer, sunnier days ahead but truth be told what really puts a little “spring in our step” is the realization of  FINALLY being able to wear that spring skirt, or dress or top that we bought in JANUARY. Hello Spring… We thought you would never get here!

Hello Spring!!!! It’s time to Pull Out The Pastels.
