Gown after gown graced the red carpet at last nights Emmy Awards Ceremony. Surprisingly it wasn’t one of the primetime actors that reporters were all buzzing about but instead one of their own. Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounous put on a gown with  more sparkle than  the spotlight on an Emmy statue hitting center stage. Can we just ask- Honey, who are you wearing?

After a bit of fashion sleuthing I find that the designer(s) in question are Ralph and Russo. Ralph and Russo is a luxury couture house that specializes in bespoke evening, cocktail and red carpet wear. The brand was established in London 2007 by Australian born duo Michael Russo and Tamara Ralph.  Each Ralph and Russo gown is chosen from hand-drawn sketches and made the traditional couture way out of their London based atelier. Their couturiers drape, cut and pin the gowns to the body then bead, embellish and sew the garments individually by hand. Every Ralph and Russo gown is made-to-measure and can take hundreds of hours and up to 30 pairs of hands to create.

Wanda Sykes has embraced the concept of fashion! Yea!

I hate to be a “know it all” BUT – three for three appeared to be the number of Zuhair Murad Gowns at the Emmy Awards last night. By my calculations no other designer was shown on the red carpet as many times this Emmy season than Zuhair!  All I can say is GORGOUS!!!

It’s just minutes before the Emmy Awards begin. If you love Zuhair Murad as much as I do (and I dare say if you don’t-than you can’t possibly be reading Go To Glamour Girl) you will be on the lookout 24/7 to spot one of his opulent couture gowns. Let the Emmy’s begin…  

The Emmy Awards are this weekend. Can we all take a collective breath and sit upright on the edge of our seats for some much needed evening gown glamour-or as I like to abbreviate and refer to it as EGG.(It’s kind of like an EKG- which of course tests the electrical activity of our heart, only better- because it’s a reaction to fashion). Let’s face it Glamour Girls, after a long hot summer void of any award shows it is high time to feast our eyes on beautiful gowns. I can hardly wait!

London Fog has tapped voluptuous Christina Hendricks (of Mad Men fame) as their latest Covergirl.  Previous campaigns have featured  Supermodel Giselle Bundchen and the gorgeous couple of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker.

When you look at the ads I don’t see anyone in the rain. This leads me to think that perhaps the trench isn’t a classic raincoat reserved only for a stormy day but rather a “must have item” to  slip into when you want to get  more comfortable.  Perhaps the Fog has lifted and what you really need a trench for is to drive a man mad…

Hello Kitty-(and no I am not referring to the clothing brand that should only be embraced by lovely little glamour girls under the age of 12)… but instead THE fashion staple, that has returned with a vengeance for Fall 2010. The kitten heel is a dainty demi-heel that will have you strutting “lower to the ground” but is far more comfortable than the 7 inch stiletto that women are breaking their ankles over.

By Definition: the kitten heel is a stiletto heel of 5 centimeters or less in height, some as low as 3 centimeters. They are classified as stilettos despite their lack of height because of their sex appeal particularly when teamed with a sharp pointed toe (Who knew! Really??? A stiletto heel-??? -so much for going to Wikipedia).

If you need a little kitten heel history: they were introduced in the late 1950s as formal fashion attire for young adolescent teenage girls as higher heels would have been considered unseemly for girls as young as 13 because of the sexual connotations and unease of walk. They were sometimes referred to as “trainer heels” in the USA indicating their use in getting young girls used to wearing high heels. However by the early 1960s they became fashionable for older teenagers and eventually for women of all ages until the demise of the stiletto heel in the late 1960s. They emerged again in the 1980s and have become once again fashionable since 2003

So Glamour Girls, there is your fashion history lesson for the day. I say embrace your inner kitten and purchase a pair of these dainty demi-heels for Fall. You will be strutting down the street with a quicker skip in your step and saving your feet from high heel overload. What could be more pur.r.r.r.fect than that!
