Fashion designers are known to get inspiration from a number of venues. Sometimes they are traveling and see a certain textile or print that they want to reproduce. Sometimes they discover a need that has not yet been filled in the fashion world AND sometimes they glance through historic fashion tombs and FIND (nice word for COPY) an idea. That IDEA may evolve into an item that is eerily similar in shape and design to the original but with a few changes. I give you exhibit A…or in this case exhibit 22 & 24. Is it me or does the recent Tiffany Morgan jewel clutch resemble a design combo of the aforementioned clutches from 1933??? Just a thought.
Marilyn Monroe was a woman who seemed to be Glamour Worthy AND Glamour Ready… It didn’t matter if she was reading a playbill, checking her agenda, lounging in her bathrobe or recovering from her appendectomy in 1952 (see picture in bed reading cards) she always looked primed for the picture.
Dearest Glamour Girl Readers…

Christmas came early for January…as in Jones. Seems that the beautiful actress (otherwise known as Betty Draper of Mad Men fame) has not only been selected as the new face for Versace Accessories but has also penned the Forward to the much anticipated tomb on “all things fashion” written by Janie Bryant.(Costume designer of Mad Men). In writing this little ditty on January I thought, how funny that I feature January in her Versace Ads wearing absolutely nothing except a handbag or glasses and then go on to talk about her latest writing gig for a book on fashion, style and choosing the right clothing…..Obviously January is one very versatile girl.
There is nothing like a monochromatic color scheme to instill a sense of calm…..This beautiful photo (courtesy of Chic Interiors) is a perfect example of a peaceful setting…(something I thought you might be needing with four days left before Christmas). Enjoy!
