It’s the weekend…Take time to Relax!

I hate to say “I told you so!” But I told you so! Way back in March, (March 7 GTGG to be exact) I wrote a post proclaiming that Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen would be designing Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding Dress. Since then – a slew of designer names were mentioned but I stayed true to Sarah, and had every confidence that her designs would prevail. Low and behold-beautiful Kate Middleton, now Princess Catherine did indeed wear McQueen as did her sister Pipa – just as I had predicted.
THE dress is made of beautiful white satin gazar. The train is 107 inches long and the lace appliqués were hand made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Count Palace. The lace appliqué on the bodice and train were intricately sewn on by hand . The story goes that seamstresses working on the dress had to wash their hands every 30 minutes to keep the lace pristine. Each and every detail of this iconic dress were overseen by designer Sarah Burton.

The Royal Wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! Elegant, Sophisticated and Regal! Kate now Princess Catherine and Prince William were the essence of composure. Given the chance-we would all love to hear the up- close and personal thoughts that they were having. Since we’re not privy to the inside scoop-let’s (just for fun) take a stab at what was being said…

Prince WIlliam: "Phew...we made it-Let's go for a carriage ride."

The very happy couple!

We're all wild about Harry!

Sealed with a Kiss!
Kate Middleton may go down in history as one of the most famous brides of our time BUT nobody can beat Elizabeth Taylor for being the “Busiest Bride of All.” Elizabeth Taylor celebrated a grand total of 8 weddings in her lifetime. Liz never ceased to amaze us with her beauty and selection of wedding attire. Here is a quick retrospective of Elizabeth Taylor-Hilton, Wilding, Todd, Fisher, Burton, Burton, Warner, and Fortensky. P.S. We miss you Liz….

The Royal Wedding is 2…count um…2 days away. Everybody is talking about the ceremony…THE DRESS…, the church…etc.etc.etc. BUT what about the honeymoon? I know Kate must be up to her eyeballs in last minute wedding details but I thought it would be a fashionable gesture to send a few last minute selections for her honeymoon-(just in case). Let’s face it-a true Glamour Girl can never have enough outfits for such a special event in her life. Agreed!
I have chosen designer Monique Lluillier to fill the bill! (Or in this scenario-her suitcase). Monique Lluillier is known for her magnificent Wedding Gowns and Red Carpet Dresses BUT, she also has a RTW line that is perfect for a Princess. Enjoy!

Whoever said “Details don’t matter”
a) Isn’t paying attention
b.) Doesn’t embrace the importance of the perfect accessory.
c.) Totally-Clueless to the concept of what a little BLING can BRING!!!!
Vogue Daily/online has this fantabulous feature that follows one Vogue-ster (my term for: Person who works in the hallowed halls of Vogue US) for five days of fashion. The latest spotlight is on Vogue’s Director of Special Events-Sylvana Ward Durrett. Sylvana is currently planning the upcoming Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala on May 2. With so much to do and so little time-Sylvana attends to delightful details –both for her events and her outfits. One look at her perfect choice of accessories and all I can say is ….Details DO Matter!
