Lat night, Project Runway’s “Taylor Made Challenge” should have been titled “Taylor Made Meltdown.”Who can blame these overworked, overstressed, overtired designers as they try to create magic in challenges that offer less than a 24 hour window to create. It’s called a “creative process “for a reason. Week after week… having to design garments in less time than it takes to prepare a turkey dinner can be so.o.o.o stressful. As the competition continues, I have softened on a number of designers that I once wasn’t so fond of: (Elena and Gunnar) and grown a strong dislike to one’s I thought were amazing designers but lacked any sort of humanity (Ven-in the plus size model debackle).. My eyes are still closely fixed on Melissa, Sonja and Chris. In the words of Tim Gunn-Carry On Designers!

Who doesn’t love Tim Gunn?
One would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t adore this “Savant of Style and Good Taste.” Seems that our wonderful Mr. Gunn is out with a brand new book come this September concerning the history of fashion. Leave it to Mr. Gunn (May I call you Tim?) to pen a book that teaches all the interesting tidbits on how certain elements of fashion came to hang in our closets. Tim Gunn being the intellect and all round great guy that he is-I have no doubt that it will be an enlightening and educational read and one that any true Glamour Girl will treasure.
Publisher’s Weeklysays, “In addition to his fun and informative survey of the past, Gunn doles out sage advice for the present, with sidebars devoted to helping determine the proper bra fit, listing the various categories of shorts, and explaining the proper way to shop for pants. Numerous cultural tidbits, fantastic images, and sartorial wisdom from one of fashion’s most respected gurus make this a must-read for “everyone who gets dressed in the morning, not just an elite crew in Manhattan.”
Release date: September 11, 2012, $28 ( or available now on pre-order at Amazon for $16.46 ! )
A soft shade of blue is the perfect hue for a bedroom that calms you.
Labor Day is looming and what’s a Glamour Girl to serve that’s fun and festive for all her guests. How about milk and cookies served in a shot glass rimmed with chocolate and sprinkles. It’s so.o.o.o easy and everyone can partake. Kids will think you are the hostess with the mostess and parents appreciate the nostalgia of milk and cookies.
Here’s all you have to do:
Pour a good quality dark chocolate (1 whole bar) or/ (1 bag of semi sweet chocolate morsels) in a glass bowl. Heat bowl over a double boiler or in a microwave until chocolate starts melting. Take a whisk and stir constantly until it’s smooth. Remove from heat.
Take clean shot glasses and dip rim of glass into chocolate.
In a separate bowl pour sprinkles and then dip the chocolate rimmed glass into sprinkles.
Set to the side or let chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.-(This will set the chocolate and sprinkles and when you pour the milk- it will be cold).
Serve with assorted cookies.

If your so inclined… you can pick up this fabulous pair of
Miu Miu Crystal embellished suede sandals at:
Leather is going to be BIG…very big for Fall 2012. Here’s the scoop-didi-scoop when it comes to wearing this fabric.
1. Purchase the best quality leather you can afford-with this fabrication it really does PAY to go luxe .
2. Quality leather should feel like BUTTER-soft, supple with great draping properties.
3. Leather MUST be lined. Why you ask-because if it isn’t it will stretch in the darndest places. Take for instance your backside from sitting down-the leather can and will stretch if not lined to accommodate your derriere while sitting. Upon standing you have instant bubble but-”so not pretty.”
4. Fit is always key in wearing any garment but especially leather. There is nothing worse than a leather item on your body with stretch lines. When in doubt buy the larger size and have it tailored to fit.
5. Purchasing a leather item with classic lines. It will extend the life of your garment’s wear-ability.
