Before we Begin…2011

Before we begin another Glamour Girl year of blogging, I would like to take a brief moment to “topic discuss” the upcoming award shows and more importantly the Red Carpet Fashion. (By my calculations we will be deluged with Designer Gowns in approximately 3 days-starting with the People’s Choice awards on January 5, and will continue our Couture Coverage until they roll up the Red Carpet after the Oscars. It may not sound like much but for a celebrity stylist we are talking massive amounts of designer duds to prep for the nominees. Think: People’s Choice SAG Awards, Golden Globes, Oscar’s-(luncheon, primetime interview, awards telecast, Oscar winner photo shoots and numerous on-air interviews before and after the event). Trust me-we’re talking … prepping and primping of more designer ensembles than Mariah Carey currently has stored in her ginormous 1200 square foot closet).

Keeping fashion at the forefront of our minds and hoping that there will be more hits than misses when it comes to Red Carpet fashion… here are a few Glamour Girl suggestions as we review some of last years ultimate Glamour looks…

GG Rule 1. Please…. for Goodness sake wear something that shows off your very best assets. See Jen Garner and Gwyneth Paltrow, below for form fitting fashion that screams FABU on YOU.

GG Rule2: When in doubt go for the SPARKLE. Nothing says Show –Stopper better than a Bit of BLING (see J. Lo and Eva)

GG Rule #3 Remember we are going for a TOTAL LOOK-hair, make-up, accessories. When in doubt “Keep it Simple” (see Kristin Davis, SJP, and Kate Winslet). Sometimes less is …SO MUCH MORE!

GG Rule #4 No matter what-smile! (See Lea Michele)

GG Rule #5 If you are a GG viewer watching at home-remember “IT TAKES A VILLAGE” to get these girls camera ready so don’t compare yourself to the perfection you see on the screen. Keep in mind these lovely actresses have access to the best in hair, make-up, designer gowns, personal trainers, celebrity stylists and SPANX!
