The LBLL Dress…(Little Black Leather Dress)…

O.K. So I’m on a bit of a Little Black Dress kick this week. There is nothing better than a great looking  LBL to get you dressed and out the door looking chic and sophisticated in a matter of minutes.  If you’re looking to add a little bit of edge to your LBLL ,might I suggest one made out of leather or at the very least a  faux leather that looks so authentic… you’ll have to look twice. I came across a number of leather dresses that are sleek and chic and one really great faux number that I think you’ll ADORE!

Here are a few LBLL guidelines to keep you looking Glamour Girl ready :

Rule Number One: When shopping for a leather dress keep in mind that it MUST be lined. I stand firm on this rule because as you may know-leather can stretch and to avoid having any type of material sag it’s best to “line and be fine” than to “sag and look like a bag.” Trust me on this one!

If you’re going for broke (which you may have to do because most leather dresses run from the $700-$2900.00 range) -purchase the best possible quality that you can afford. If you can’t afford the real deal-don’t fret-their are so many faux options that will fit the bill and your budget. ( P.S. Kathie Lee Gifford wore a Donna Morgan Faux Leather Dress on the Today show  10/13/2011)and it was FABU!!!

Like all things apparel FIT IS KEY!!!! When it comes to leather this is the MOST important part of the puzzle. When in doubt buy a size larger and have it tailored to your smaller measurements. The worst thing in the world is to spend a good amount of money and have the dress puckering and pulling because the label inside the dress was the size you want to be instead of the size you are.

If you have gobs of cash then omit this suggestion but if money is a concern I highly recommend buying a classic shape for maximum wear ability. Their called “Classics” for a reason.
