3 Quick Tips for setting the Perfect Thanksgiving Table
Thanksgiving Day is exactly one week away and I am here to say…it is none to soon to set your Thanksgiving table. I have a few tried and true tips to help you set a table that is pretty and picture perfect with very little effort.
#1. The Centerpiece
- FLOWERS are always the perfect centerpiece! Purchase a day or two early and they will be in full bloom by Thanksgiving.
- Pumpkins are marked down everywhere and you can also perch pumpkins anywhere and everywhere on your table or around your serving area.
- Candles and more candles area great addition to any table, not to mention they add a beautiful glow.
- Autumnal Leaves and branches. If your out of time or on a tight budget your centerpiece is right outside your front door. Gather leaves and branches and use as your holiday decor (Tip: You may want to wipe leaves with a wet paper towel and let air dry before placing on your table).
#2. Napkins/ Placemats /Table coverings
Napkins and placemats are always a wonderful addition to your table. If you lack a large enough table covering, use a bed sheet as a table cloth and no one will be the wiser.(One year I used a leopard print Ralph Lauren Bed sheet as my tablecloth and many of my guests commented on how fabulous the table looked. Little did they know that THE FABULOUS TABLECLOTH was a bedsheet. After dinner, simply spot treat for any spills and put in the washer.
Side Note: It’s the time to use the good china-you know the plates we always keep in storage, and don’t be afraid to mix and match your plate patterns.
#2 Personalize your place settings
- It’s easy and affordable to personalize your place settings with the help of your printer or simply hand writing each persons name.
Also consider using ribbon to make a simple place setting look special.
