Monday Mood Lifter

Posted By: Terri
Category: Monday Mantra

Hello Monday. I have been MIA as of late and for that I apologize. The year has been off to a rather tumultuous start, I found myself completely distracted by the current events of the day. That being said, today starts a new work week and I am in high resolve to GET BUSY and start being a bit more involved in daily life. Starting off the week with a little positivity and taking charge of the things we have  control of…

  • I have always been a big believer in: Dressing UP to cheer UP.
  • Put something on today that makes you feel your very best and see how it shifts your mood.

Monday…is it time for a Change?

Posted By: Terri
Category: Monday Mantra

Happy Monday! Today is January 11, 2021.For anyone that’s into numbers or Numerology for that matter-there’s a whole lot of one’s in today’s date(1/01/2021). If you ready to start a New Year and needed a week to warm up to the notion that things have got to change for the BETTER including an end to this Pandemic, a more peaceful political climate and the notion of getting back to some kind of normal.

Bearing in mind that this is just the beginning I ask you (and myself for that matter) what do I need to do to make this a better year ahead. Things like cleaning out clutter from your closet or organizing different areas of your home may seem mundane and trivial but I am a big believer that when you clean out the clutter and organize your space it provides clarity in your life which usually overflows into all areas of your life.

Sooo here’s a little something to start your week (and your year for that matter). I hope we can collectively embrace a change for the better.

Sunday Refelction

Hello Glamour Girl and welcome to a brand New Year full of possibilities.

I don’t think I’m talking “out of school” when I say that  we’re more than THRILLED that 2020 is O.V.E.R. . Granted with  the never ending quarantine and downtime inflicted on our lives, we had time to reflect on allot, and I do mean ALLOT  of things and reconsider exactly how we are feeling about life in general.

2020 wasn’t a complete wash, as I’m sure many of us learned a few new things:

Zoom was HUGE! (I ask… did you ever Zoom before the Pandemic)? WeTransfer, Dropbox and assorted other SEND skills  boomed when it came to communicating for business and personal,, and don’t even get me started on self taping, ring lights and learning how to edit content via iMovie.

Baking took off  to levels almost unimaginable!  Were you able to buy flour or sugar in March or April? Apparently everyone was making bread and starting to cook from home.

I witnessed firsthand people walking  in neighborhoods in LA, which is rare because prior to Covid -Angelenos-are NOT known to walk  ANYWHERE but rather drive EVERYWHERE.I  was delighted to see families taking walks together, neighbors engaging in conversation in their yards while social distancing and people as a whole slowing down and taking in nature. I had to pinch myself and wonder if we had not  embarked on some sort of time travel back to the 1960s.

Nobody was dressing up-hence it was hard to author a post and not feel ridiculous writing about  suits, sequins or stilettos. Loungewear was the norm and  people were realllly in relaxation mode.

Sooo here we are at the start of a New Year, still navigating through this Pandemic ,but perhaps a whole lot more hopeful that someday in the next 3-6 months we will once again find ourselves living life more fully.

As we go forward, I am here to cheer you on and remind you that YOU can do anything. For goodness sake-you’ve made it through a Pandemic and if you’re reading this you’re still standing.  I urge you to make this the year that you are fearless in the pursuit of what brings you joy, makes you feel useful and productive and to do whatever it takes to brings your dreams that much closer to reality.

I send my deepest wishes and prayers that 2021 will be all that you desire and so much more.

xoxo

Terri

Xmas week and the countdown is ON!

As we’re all so keenly aware that this year is not like any other and many of us will be celebrating  the holidays on a much smaller scale than ever before, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still embrace the true Spirit of the Season…

Monday Quote & In-Store Shopping Tips

Posted By: Terri
Category: Monday Mantra

Today’s quote is one that I hope will make you smile.

We have 10 days… count um..10 days until Xmas Eve and you know what that means…there’s ONLY 10 more days to FINISH all the shopping and prepping and decorating in time for Christmas.

If you’re one of those Super duper organized shoppers that is done with their Xmas shopping in May, well then my hats off to you.

However, if you haven’t started and/or trying to finish (and are dubious of the On line delivery times or just like to support local retailers) here are a  few  of my favorite In Store shopping tips to help you get that list done in nothing flat:

I don’t mean to brag…BUT I’m pretty good at this whole Support your “Local Retailer” Shopping thing…Favorite tips below.

  1. Make a list of EVERYONE you need to shop for. Don’t wing it and go from memory.  Brain fog is often known to happen when you come across a 70% off SALE sign.
  2. Make sure you have something to EAT and drink before you shop.
  3. Keep hydrated (Always carry a small bottle of water in your purse. (More times than not your thirsty and not hungry).
  4. Shop EARLY (right when the stores open) or as late in the day as your schedule and store hours allow.
  5. Stock is substantially diminished in stores this year. If you’re shopping and can’t decide between two items for someone…buy them both and return one after you’ve had time to consider which one is best.
  6. Use only one credit card for purchases during the holidays, and pay it off in full at the end of the month. You will not only have a complete record of what you’re bought during the holidays but it’s  easier and faster  to return an item on a charge card versus a debit card.
  7. ALWAYS get a gift receipt.
  8.  If you’re mailing items from USPS.. Learn to use the free standing postal machines to weigh and stamp your items. You’ll avoid waiting in long lines and will be in and out of the Post Office Pronto.
  9. Prep your mailing packages:  Each package should be addressed, sealed/taped and ready to go when you get to the Post office. This will save you mountains of aggravation and time if you think ahead and have everything ready -prior to putting your item on the postal scale.
  10. When in doubt use the FLAT RATE boxes provided for FREE from the Post Office. More times than not this will save you money.

Weekend Mood

Category: Monday Mantra

Thoughts on THANKSGIVING weekend…

Quick question…Did you start you day with pumpkin pie for breakfast? Or did you opt out for the pecan pie or cookies or whatever you fancied that wasn’t your usual healthy way to start your day????

Well, let me just tell you that this weekend  YOU get a hall pass. Thanksgiving is the time of year that you may find yourself dipping into the dessert tray before noon or having a snack at the oddest times of the day, skipping workouts and sitting in your jammies until well until it’s time to go BACK to bed. But it’s all good. That’s the beauty of Thanksgiving. It’s the time of year to give thanks, enjoy a great meal to your hearts content and remind yourself how grateful you are for everything you do have. It’s been a rough 2020 ….so savor everything that brings you joy.

Monday we can get back on the treadmill and the bandwagon of healthy eating and working out.

A Prayer from me to you…

Words that resonate for the Better… in and for ALL of us.

I came across a quote this morning and thought it couldn’t be more appropriate in light of the election results finally being in and a promise that Change is  truly on it’s way.

It is my deepest hope that our country and our collective well being is on  a path to healing and living better lives in the days to come.

Have a great Monday and “If you can’t see the Change…Be the change.”

It all starts within each of us.
