Trending :  Vibrant hues on cue for Spring/ Summer 2022

A dose of color might be the perfect anecdote to put some “Spring in our step” for the upcoming season. After being in lockdown for so long, it could be nice (hedging on restorative) too add a major POP of color to our wardrobe and surrounding.  The good news is that the  peeps at Pantone (the color experts) and The Trend Council have proclaimed the following colors to be trending for the upcoming Spring/Summer season. These vibrant shades are so beautiful they’re bound to brighten your day.  Enjoy!

It’s a Numbers Game-“Twos” day 2-22-22

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

I woke up this morning and I couldn’t believe that today was Tuesday or better put: “TWOS” DAY-2/22/2022.

There seems to be something magical when numbers align in such a spectacular way. It makes one feel that perhaps this is some sort of divine order happening and I think we can all agree that after the last 2 years dealing with a Pandemic and all the other assorted craziness in the world -we are ready  to take a collective breath and engage in some magical alignment.

Wishing you a day full  lovely moments that seem almost TWO good to be true.

Today I have a recap of things that I have been loving!

Full disclosure- I’ve been in bed  for almost 2 solid weeks with shingles (Yes, you read that right-Shingles-and I am here to report it is not fun)! Something to Read

One of the best books I’ve read in a very long time (seriously it kept me on the edge of my seat). A thrilling novel by Katherine St. John.

Clever twists abound . . . Fans of Liane Moriarty and Jessica Knoll will devour this’ Booklist
‘A very juicy thriller’ Cosmopolitan
‘Truly a thriller in every sense of the word. It made my heart race.*****’A reader

Something to Watch

‘This whole story is true, except for the parts that are completely made up.”

Watch Inventing Anna | Netflix Official Site › title

Audacious entrepreneur or con artist? A reporter digs into how Anna Delvey convinced New York’s elite she was a German heiress. Based on a true story.

Category: Fashionable Food/Recipes

To get your week started on a sweet start, I thought  you might enjoy my absolute favorite:

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.

It’s easy to whip up and hedges on healthy. But let’s face it we’re talking cookies here and I for one am not about a “diet” version of any cookie. If you’re having a cookie it has always been my firm belief that you should HAVE A COOKIE and enjoy it! Trust me when I say: It’s better to have a real bonified full fat cookie than 10 diet cookie! Seriously…why oh why do they need to put a cookie on a diet anyway?!

I hope you enjoy this recipe and have a sweet week ahead.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

1 stick (+) 6 tbsp. Butter –softened to room temp

¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 ½ all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

3 cups Quaker Oats

½ cup to ¾ chocolate chips

¼ to ½ cup organic shredded coconut

¼ to ½ cup dried cranberries

Hello February! Fun Facts & Special Dates

Posted By: Terri
Category: Humor Uncategorized

Fun Facts and Dates

  1. #FACT February is one of the most misspelled words in the English language. Yep, you read that right. February is one of the most misspelled words. What is the most misspelled word … well that honor goes to “Quarantine”. Most people thought it was spelled “Corn Teen”. Even the White House has misprinted the word “February” before in a press release.
  1. Thank you, Julius Caesar. February officially was added to the Roman Calendar in 713 BC. Julius Caesar remade the Roman Calendar and officially assigned the month 28 and 29 days.
  1. At one point it has only 23 days!  Can you image only 23 days to the month.
  1. February comes from the Latin word for “Februum”. Februum means purification and relates to a Roman Purification festival which was like an early Roman Spring Cleaning thing.
  1. No Full Moon: February is the only month where it is possible to go the entire time without having a full moon.
  1. Being Born on a Leap Year: Oh and if you are wondering there is about 1 in 1461 chance of being born on a leap year.
  1. Days in February…I had no idea some of these even existed.  I often wonder who actually comes up with these dedicated days of celebration?

February 1 – National Dark Chocolate Day not to mention the start of Luna New Year! (FYI It’s the Year of the Water Tiger)

February 2 – National Groundhog Day

February 3 – National Carrot Cake Day

February 4 – National Thank a Mail Carrier Day

February 6 – National Chopstick Day

February 7 – National Send a Card to a Friend Day

February 8 – National Kite Flying Day (Perhaps May would be a better month to celebrate?) Just say’n.

February 9 – National Pizza Day

February 10 – National Umbrella Day

February 11 – National Inventors’ Day

February 14 – Valentines Day

February 15 – Singles Awareness Day

February 16 – National Almond Day

Category: Monday Mantra

Happy Monday! I know it’s been a minute…well…more than a minute since my last post was in early December BUT  here’s the good news… I’m back and ready to give you a dose of Glamour, Inspirational Decor, organizing tips, fashion features and low and behold a newly designed blog is in the works  and will be ready for it’s debut in just a few weeks.

That being said, I need to catch up and wish you the Happiest of New Years in addition to my best wishes that 2022 will be filled with every blessing for you and your family.

As we start the last week of January (How did it get to be the last week of January already??) I’m featuring 3 easy peasy items that you can do to add a bit of happy to your day. It’s Monday for goodness sake and I have a feeling we could all use a little something to put  some “pep in our step.”

Monday Mantra

A friend of mine posted this lovely message on another social media site and I thought it was a perfect Mantra to embrace as we move into 2022….

As we continue out promise to eat healthy this year..(does this sound even remotely familiar)  I wanted to repost my Kale Salad Recipe that is  easy, delicious  and super healthy! It’s your basic win, win!

Kale Salad Recipe

  • Organic Kale (pre washed bag) (chop in food processor)
  • Organic Persian Cucumber (1 large whole chopped)
  • Organic small Cherry Tomatoes (10-12 chopped in halves)
  • Organic Carrots (Grate 2-3)
  • Dried Cranberries (1/2 cup)
  • Sunflower Seeds Unsalted Roasted (1/2 cup)
  • Feta (1/4 to ½ cup)
  • Garbanzo Beans 1 can (rinsed in  a meshed strainer prior)  before adding to salad

Portions of each item can be increased or decreased as per your preference.

Combine all ingredients and mix together gently

*All items listed are available from Trader Joes

Salad Dressing

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil  (1/2 cup)
  • 3 T Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 T Dijon
  • 1 T Honey

Shake in a jar until combined. Pour over salad

Drizzle extra honey on top if desired

(Store remaining dressing in fridge)

Finally, if you’re in need of an  “instant” pick me up-Buy yourself a bouquet of flowers. I spotted TULIPS at Trader Joe’s this morning and it was a wonderful reminder that warmer days are ahead not to mention their pretty in pink.
