Shoe Spotlight….Marvelous Marc Fisher

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

Can you ever have too many shoes? The immediate response is a resounding  Nooooo!

When we stop to break it down by shoe category we will admit that there are all sorts of shoes that enter the confines of our closet.

Some are there “just for show” aka the pairs your wear  when you KNOW you’re going to be sitting and not standing or walking any great distance because although pretty …they are uncomfortable with a capital U!!!(as in Ugh)

Then there are the standard staples-the pairs you wear on rotation. They are comfortable and are your “go to selections” that you pull out and wear with anything and everything.

Last but not least there are THE SHOES that you just look at because they shouldn’t really be walking the streets. These are the pairs that are soooo beautiful -it would be best if  you kept them  under glass or perhaps on display in your very own shoe museum.   (I know you know what I’m talking about)!…more than likely you have a pair or two (or three)  that fit this description).

But back to shoes that you can actually wear because they are stylish, and comfortable and (wait for it-affordable). Yes it is the trifecta of shoe love and I have found this to be true in all and I do mean all of the Marc Fisher shoes that I own.

I am a huge fan of Marc Fisher footwear and I have a feeling you will be too!

Are you Pedi Ready?

Posted By: Terri
Category: Beauty

My lovely and perfectly put together friend Mary, called today and inquired about what shade of nail color is going to be stylish for Spring/ Summer? Don‘t you just love a friend that asks you a fashion question? In our group Mary, is “the smart one” hence she  always asks the perfect questions. That being said, although I am not an authority on all things  to do with nail polish and pedicures,  I do have a penchant for keeping up on all the latest style news. Here is my 411 on pedicures and nail colors for the upcoming warmer months: I’ve linked color to website when available otherwise you can find most brands in a bevy of department, beauty and drug stores.

*Style Tip: My Style Solution  when it comes to pedicures and color choice: If you’re toes are NOT your favorite feature then choose a neutral and/ or lighter shade. Think soft white/toned down tan or a pale pink, blue or violet.

If you have pretty feet than by all means go as bright or bold as you like. Bight Pink, red, coral, blue or even polish with some sparkle.

Biggest trend for the Spring Summer Season WHITE!

White-is going to be BIG this Spring and Summer.  White is so right and gives you a clean slate to pair with just about anything you wear. Here are two that I highly recommend:

Nailsinc.com $10.00

White @KBSHimmer  $10.00

Light Pink

OPI Movie Buff (pale Pink)$11.00

Wet n Wild (Nude) $4.00

Salle Hansen Miracle el (Muted Seafoam) $7.00

Chanel (Melody)  $28.00

Sally Hanson Extreme Wear  in Iris Illusion $3.00

Pear Nova Night Fades Morning Haze $13.50 Click on Image

Mischo Beauty (Diana) $17.00 @ Macy’s Click on Image

Zoya -Ella Creamy Coral $10.00 Click on Image

Closet Flip and the Top 5 Questions to Consider

Posted By: Terri
Category: Uncategorized

Spring is here and so is SPRRRING cleaning. Where oh where  is a Glamour Girl to begin? (This is not a trick question) …in your closet- of course! I call it the Closet Flip and with the onset of warmer days ahead-it’s time to re-evaluate your wardrobe.

Before you pack things away and bring Summer items out of storage, I think it’s a good time..no make that a great time, to take a good look at your closet and EDIT…

Below is a list of  my Top 5 RED FLAGS aka questions to consider when evaluating  any and all items in  your wardrobe.

Does it stay or does it go.???? Answer honestly and you will KNOW!

  • Does it Fit-and I do mean to perfection!. This is the number 1 question to consider when pondering…”Do I keep or Do I  purge.”  If the item is too small then out it goes. If it’s to big and you LOVE it-then get it altered ASAP  and start wearing it.
  • Does it FLATTER your figure OR do you look in the mirror and ask yourself-WHAT WAS I THINKING (when I bought this)! Cut your loses now. No need to be reminded of  buying something that just doesn’t work.
  • Can it be repaired? It doesn’t matter how much you love that once favorite sweater- the moths loved it more and had it for breakfast. Time to say good bye.
  • Are you uncomfortable and you can’t bear to wear it? GONE.
  • Does it make you feel beautiful aka  your very best? If not- Bah- bye!

Wonderful Wallpaper-is making a Comeback!

Did you get the MEMO???

Similar to the way of denim that’s making a major return to the fashion forefront.. WALLPAPER is staging a BIG comeback in home goods. Who knew?? As of now- we both do.

Seems that wonderful wallpaper is BACK  in high demand. Being a  girl that gravitates to a more monochromatic palette when it comes to decor, I can appreciate a POP of wallpaper that is perfectly placed to make some major impact.

Should you need a little inspiration to wallpaper UP… here are a few suggestions with links for where to purchase. When links are not available I have shown images as a suggestion for Decor possibilities.

Scalamandre Zebras Wallpaper Available @ Lynn Chalk.com

Schumacher Queen of Spain Wallpaper

Leftover wallpaper makes a lovely lining for your drawers.

Wallpaper to back closet wall shelving. Resource unavailable but you can use any pattern and it will bring impact.

Let’s get a JUMP(suit) on the weekend.

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion Fashion tips

Helloooo Weekend. It’s been  quite a week and I apologize for being MIA…but we’re back and happy to share this post on jumpsuits for Spring and Summer. Below is a sampling of a few of my favorite styles that look good on just about everyone.

Jumpsuits are super comfy and CAN be so flattering!

Here are a few tips to make sure you look your best no matter what style you choose to wear:

  1. Fit is absolute key.
  2. Check pant length in the event you want to pair with heels. Best to go a little longer and roll the hem up when you wear with sneakers or flats. Options are important!
  3. Most denim jumpsuits ae 100% cotton. If you’re going to machine wash -I highly recommend washing alone in a delicate cycle on cold to insure that the color stays vibrant and the jumpsuit doesn’t shrink in size.
  4. Sleeves, no sleeves? I recommend a 3/4 to long sleeve-you can always roll the sleeves up on warmer days.
  5. A cinched in waist will also make you look like you have an hourglass figure.
  6. Dark denim will always make you appear thinner.
