Monday Memo

Just a little something to think about….

If you’re looking for a few suggestions on how to start a new endeavor or perhaps revisit a goal that you’ve had on the back burner, here are a few suggestions to get you going in the direction of your dreams.

1.Write it down. I know this is not new , but the number one way to get yourself motivated and to serve as a sort of “road map” to your dream is to WRITE IT DOWN. That means taking pen to paper and  write as specifically as possible what you want to attain.

2. Baby Steps:  Set  a specific time  aside each day to work toward this goal. I highly recommend  committing to your schedule –10 minutes each day to focus on an action toward attaining your goal. More times than not -this 10 minutes will turn into a longer session of productivity. The whole point of this exercise is to get yourself to consistently show up.

3. Block out Negativity:  Shut off any inner conversation with yourself and those of other  that say: You can’t do whatever your goal is…because(insert a  plethora of reasons). Only share your ideas and ask for suggestions from those that can offer support and some guidance or constructive feedback.

4. Be Open to learning: There are so many avenues and resources  via the Internet . If  you need  to learn a new skill, research information or searching for resources to buy sell or complete your project there are a bevy of resources available at your fingertips-all you need do is  “Google.”

3.  Visualize: See the end result. This serves to keep you motivated and focused. As the saying goes…Keep your “Eye on the Prize.”

Quarantine day 15,794..or so it seems. This self isolation  business has gone on for allot longer than anyone could desire, want,imagine or care to consider…BUT we must stay mindful of a goal, any goal that we wanted to attain this year Keep going, keep doing and keep trying.

Self Care Sunday’s

Self Care Sunday’s has suddenly become a “thing” and I would like to thank the genius who originally coined the term and got the whole ball rolling on this concept.

Way back when (if anyone can remember) Sunday was deemed as a day of rest-dating back to a biblical reference. Yet somehow, that mantra has gone by the way side and we have become obsessed with using Sunday as a catch up day to complete everything we didn’t quite get to during the week. (If this resonates with you -raise a hand. Present company is included..so don’t for a minute feel guilty.

For the good of our mental health and in a collective quest to enjoy this wonderful life we’ve been given here are a few suggestions to try on your “Self care Sundays”

Let’s start with the number one rule for unplugging: Limit time on all social media to a bare minimum.

Choose from any on of the following to aid in relaxing:

Take a walk (outside) 

Take a bubble bath. 

Listen to some beautiful meditation music.

Read a book (remember books).

Book a mani pedi or give yourself one.

Get a massage/a facial or heck why not check into a spa for the entire day.

Deviate from your diet and enjoy something really decadent. Savor every bite.

I hope you’ll take time to take care of YOU. Have a beautiful relaxing Sunday.

Happy first Monday of February. January literally flew by and after numerous friends commented how their January was “not the best” and seemed to have a bit of 2018 residue (read into that …not the happiest of times) we are all hoping that February will bring some much need relief and a better sense of moving forward. Enough already? Right?!

In an effort to aid in spring boarding you into your “happy zone ” I came across this sweet list via Pinterest (where all important tips and tricks are posted). Take a look and see if any of these might aid in bringing you to a better place. Remember ….Baby Steps.
