I love a good pair of pumps as much as the next Glamour Girl. But I ask you: “Can you really run around all day long in 6 inch stilettos”? Well…I guess you could if you keep your podiatrist on speed dial. But on THOSE days you want to stay a little bit lower to the ground might I suggest these fun and affordable flats by (wait for it) The GAP! I know! Who knew you could find such great and sensible style at a price point under $50.00 (Animal Prints @ $49.95. All other flats shown $39.95). Perfect for fall with a pair of jeans or casual skirt…..Now this is something to be pumped up about!
I am still in recovery mode from my knee replacement surgery in December. I’ve had to make a lot of fashion adjustments in the last few months to aid in my recovery ( no slim fitting pants-due to knee swelling, no dresses above the knee due to the scar still heeling,no wearing any type of heel-I’m still trying to get my walk right so one can’t be sporting any type of heel when you are basically trying to learn to walk again). It’s been a fashion challenge worthy of Project Runway… I had to finally buckle and embrace the fabulous flat as a footwear alternative. This of course brings me to today’s post-something for you my wonderful readers. I have found some pretty fun flats all under $50.00 at …(wait for it) The Gap.

Show of hands…Did you ever think you would be shopping at the GAP for a pair of pumps? Me neither. We’ll it’s a new day and the Gap has commissioned the very chic shoe designer Pierre Hardy, to construct shoes under the Gap Label. I know…who knew??? I guess that with the economy still sputtering – retailers everywhere are making “nice” and giving a go to thinking creatively in expanding their brand.
Today May 5, the Gap rolls out two perfectly pointed Pierre Hardy Pumps that will certainly keep you skipping a step when teamed with a pair of Gap jeans, summer skirts, dresses or sleek shorts. Price points for the pumps are $125.00 and they will be available at select Gap Stores and on line at Gap.com. You Go Gap!

O.K….. Here are two names that I NEVER thought would be connected: Valentino as in THE HOUSE OF VALENTINO and GAP… as in (fall into the GAP)! I know!!! Who knew???
First question is: Why??? Here’s the dish: To celebrate Gap’s first store openings in Italy, the US clothing retailer has collaborated with Italian fashion house Valentino for a capsule collection of seven styles. The items became available in the UK and Colette right after Thanksgiving. Rumor had it that the collection was only available in Europe BUT sources now say that the pieces will be available online for US customers.(I guess it’s either that or eBay).
Designed by Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the one-off collection infuses Gap’s utilitarian basics with Valentino’s signature flower-like ruffles, flounces and bows.

Gap Debut in West Hollywood
Did you hear the latest Jean Buzz-and by Jean, I am not referring to anyone you know by said name but instead I am speaking of that one apparel item that is “in” no matter what season The “Jean” that will instill the greatest shoppers anxiety on the fashion planet. The never ending quest to discover the brand that will make you look taller, thinner and shapelier in all the right places just by putting them on, and P.S.if they should cost a mere $200.00-$350.00 dollars it is so worth it-because jean can be “difficult”-you practically need a miracle or an act of God (take whichever comes first)…to find a jean that actually fits. Needless to say when you discover “THE PERFECT JEAN” you plop down the money no questions asked!
Well Premium Denim FYI-The Gap’s Creative Director Patrick Robinson opened a new store in West Hollywood this week and introduced the 1969 Premium Denim Collection. Mr. Robinson wanted to give consumers a jean that would stand up to any premium denim product on the market today. The 1969 Premium denim collection is available in skinny, straight or boot cut styles and retails for under $70.00. Yep-you heard me seventy dollars.
Thank you, Mr. Robinson
