As of late, I can’t help but notice a major upswing in people feeling hopeless. We can all agree that 2020 hasn’t exactly panned out as we had hoped or planned. But I continue to pray that very soon things will start turning around and we can have something to look forward too, plans to make, people to actually see without a mask and hugs to give. Until then, I hope you stay healthy and safe and perhaps consider making these words part of a morning mantra.. xoxoT
Happy Tuesday. I hope this finds you happy, healthy and managing this seemingly long and drawn out quarantine. It’s the end of April and most of us have been in lock down since mid March with no sign of going back to any sort of “normal “until mid May. One might say that we’re all getting a bit antsy to get back to some sort of normal. Keeping busy and having a routine in place does help but if you’re anything like me I’m sure you’d agree that we all yearn to get back to the freedom of living life more fully.
Today try if you can to carve out some space to do at least one thing that brings you JOY. Yes, I said it joy! Take a moment to stop and really savor something that makes you happy-be it a long walk, listening to your favorite song, talking to a special friend or savoring a cup of coffee or tea -whatever it is-I hope it lifts your spirits and reminds you that someday (hopefully sooner than later) things will return to a better and more productive way of life as we once knew it. Tuesday’s Tip…. is all about your Morning Ritual. Did you know that if you have a morning ritual studies show that you will be happier, healthier and more productive. How amazing is that!
As we near the end of Summer, I thought that there’s no better time to embrace or reignite your morning routine.
Here’s the 411 on how I begin my day..most of the time: *This post was inspired by you (my lovely readers) who inquired as to how I start my day.
Meditate 15- 20 minutes (Translation: listen to my breath and try to calm my thoughts which are usually going at 100 mph already)
After I meditate ..Drink 1 cup hot water with lemon
Followed by a Protein Shake (SunWarrior Plant based protein powder)**Recipe to follow in a later post
Dress,Make bed, Clean up kitchen
Out the door by 7:00-7:15 AM
If the thought of doing anything in the early AM (besides pouring a cup of coffee) seems crazzzzzy BUT you want to embrace this whole morning ritual business, I’ve put together a few easy and very doable suggestions to get you started:
Wake up 15 minutes earlier
Stretch before you get out of bed (approximately 2-3 minutes of stretching)
Meditate (10 minutes-listen to your own breath or put on some calming music for 10 minutes)
Make a cup of hot water and squeeze one lemon wedge into a cup-sip slowly) Great early morning cleanse.
Make your “to do” list for the day (List 3 things you want to get done today) .
Eat breakfast…(Something nourishing… to get your system running).

Happy first Monday of February. January literally flew by and after numerous friends commented how their January was “not the best” and seemed to have a bit of 2018 residue (read into that …not the happiest of times) we are all hoping that February will bring some much need relief and a better sense of moving forward. Enough already? Right?!
