Morning Ritual(s)

Tuesday’s Tip…. is all about your Morning Ritual. Did you know that if you have a morning ritual studies show that you will be happier, healthier and more productive. How amazing is that!

As we near the end of Summer, I thought that there’s no better time to embrace or reignite your morning routine.

Here’s the 411 on how I begin my day..most of the time: *This post was inspired by you (my lovely readers) who inquired as to how I start my day.

My Morning Ritual

  • Meditate  15- 20 minutes  (Translation: listen to my breath and try to calm my thoughts which are usually going at 100 mph already)
  • After I meditate ..Drink 1 cup hot water with lemon
  • Followed by a Protein Shake (SunWarrior Plant based protein powder)**Recipe to follow in a later post
  • Dress,Make bed, Clean up kitchen
  • Out the door by 7:00-7:15 AM

If the thought of doing anything in the early AM (besides pouring a cup of coffee) seems crazzzzzy BUT you want to embrace this whole morning ritual business, I’ve put together a few easy and very doable suggestions to get you started:

  1. Wake up 15 minutes earlier
  2. Stretch before you get out of bed (approximately 2-3 minutes of stretching)
  3. Meditate (10 minutes-listen to your own breath or put on some calming music for 10 minutes)
  4. Make a cup of hot water and squeeze one lemon wedge into a cup-sip slowly) Great early morning cleanse.
  5. Make your “to do” list for the day (List 3 things you want to get done today) .
  6. Eat breakfast…(Something nourishing… to get your system running).

A morning ritual can lead to living a happier,healthier and more productive life. YOU CAN DO THIS…Baby Steps”

Tuesday’s Tip…Drink Up!

After all the holiday partying (and drinks that ensued) it’s time to get back to business, and by business-I mean a more healthy lifestyle. One of the easiest ways to increase your overall health is by drinking more water. I know you’ve heard this before (probably about a million times) but it goes without saying that by simply drinking  more water it realllly does have a positive outcome on your over health not to mention your skin looks better and aids in your  digestion. As an added bonus I’ve enclosed a little chart that I came across on Pinterest, that defines the health benefits of drinking water with certain times of the day. Here’s to a happy healthy New Year and a gentle reminder to Drink Up!

Go for a Green Smoothie….

I have been starting my day off as of late with a green smoothie. It’s a step up from the sprouted bread and organic almond butter and it’s better for my health. Have you been going green? For my money there’s nothing like some good greens to get your day off to a great start. If you need some ideas for what you can mix together I found this great chart on Pinterest with a few additional recipes to try! Drink Up! There’s no better time to get healthy!
