RIP Fashion Designer L’Wren Scott

It is with great sadness and disbelief to report that the beautiful fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead this morning in her New York City Apartment of an apparent suicide. Scott was said to be distraught and ‘embarrassed’ over her failing business, as she owed nearly $6million to creditors. A spokesman for Mick Jagger (whom Scott had been dating since 2001) said the singer, who is in Australia as part of the Rolling Stones tour, was ‘completely shocked and devastated’ following the news of her death. When asked if they were still in a relationship at the time of her death, he replied ‘of course’.

The designer, 49, was found by her assistant and there was no immediate suspicion of foul play though the Medical Examiner has not yet released the formal report.

We send our deepest sympathies to her family and friends for this great loss.

I must admit when it comes to designer collaboration’s… I’m a bit underwhelmed with how they actually turn out. BUT and this is HUGE, I am over the moon enthralled with the upcoming L’Wren Scott collaboration for Banana Republic Holiday. We are talking 50 pieces priced from $40.00 to $200.00 and each and every item is fabulous. The collection debuts online and in stores on December 5th. Get ready. This is going to be so.o.o.o good!

SJP repeat after me-“Less IS More!”

If you read my blog you know that I am a fan of Ms. Sarah Jessica Parker. Recently SJP was attending the premiere of her latest movie “Did you hear about the Morgan’s” in London. When I first came upon pics of the evening I was so happy to see my SJP in a beautiful L’ Wren Dress (so perfect in color and fit it made me run to the gym to do another hour on the elliptical). I just adored the simple yet elegant reptile necklace by S.J. Phillips. BUT then I came upon the final picture of SJP obviously trying to brave the cold and adding a long L’Wren Scott velvet coat (no problem with that)the fuchsia flower on said coat(still doing O.K. with the ensemble) and finally the addition of the Fuchsia Fedora (STOP)! Now that is where the whole look took a massive detour.  The addition of the fedora made the whole look go from “Gorgeous” to “Gangsta  Rap!”

So to all you glamour girls out there just remember

when it comes to fashion and chocolate truffles ….

Sometimes less is more….
