Enchante…a beautiful French word meaning “Nice to meet you.”

I have no doubt there were a lot of “Nice to meet you’s “at last night’s Met Gala. But then again, if you make a GRAND entrance -introductions are probably unnecessary. If you’re curious how a few of your favorite attendees arrived with no introductions needed-here’s a sneak peak. Enchante!

The Met Gala & Blake Lively

MET GALA * The quick 411…..

The first Monday of May is aka “Met Gala Monday.”The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Each year’s event celebrates the theme of that year’s Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night, since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit. The theme for this year’s event is Camp Notes in Fashion.

Actress Blake Lively (yes, the Blake Lively married to Ryan Reynolds and pregnant with their third child-why do I know this?) has always been on of my absolute favorite Style Stars to watch at the Met Gala for two reasons: 1. Blake brings it! (Big time) Blake continues to wear the most beautiful gowns that are tasteful and elegant. 2. Blake styles herself! Yes!!! You heard me she picks her own apparel and styles herself. I’m sure she does have help when it comes to hair and make up but she chooses all her gowns with out some fancy schmancy A- list stylist. How can we not love a girl that has great taste and trusts herself with her style selections! Here’s a brief review of Blake’s Met Gala moments (and gowns) throughout the years. Enjoy!

My Favorite of the Night!
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

The Met Gala is Fashion’s Biggest night out and after all the dust has settled and the Red Carpet is rolled up there are the endless posts and blogs on who wore what and what dress really impressed. My hands down favorite was Blake Lively in Gucci-I’m telling you the girl was perfection with a capital P…SJP and Dita Von Teese looked spectacular and there were a bevy of other beautiful gowns that were extremely Glamour worthy. Here are just a few of my favorites For more Met Fashion click onto: Go To Glamour Girl Facebook Page….

The Met Gala-The Best Ballgowns & 1 Hot Mess!

The Met-"Savage Beauty" Gala

When the invitation reads: Metropolitan Museum of Art-Costume Institute Gala-“Savage Beauty” (A celebration of the late designer Alexander McQueen and his creations)… it pretty much gives you free license to  “dress to impress.” Two of my favorite looks of the night were Giselle Bundchen and Ashley Green. Their gowns were absolutely gorgeous!

There were so many looks to review (1,143 slides on Zimbo to be exact) and after sorting through the entire collection I came up  with …the best of the best (in my opinion) and some that would have  been best kept- zipped in a garment bag -NEVER to see the light of day!

I stand corrected. I said one hot mess but their seems to be a tie- Mary Kate Olsen looks lackluster in this frock. Why oh why, does such a beautiful petite woman choose to wear clothes that hide her gorgeous shape? Then we have Christina Hendricks-I have said it before and it bears repeating…”Christina-CALL Janie Bryant(Mad Men’s Costume Designer) and have her dress you for events like this.-She makes you look smashing on the show but when you venture out in public… Disaster!

Final Note : The greatest compliment anyone can pay to a designer is to wear his creations. Artist Daphne Guinness did it with style. Make sure you checkout the detailing in the last photo-McQueen was a master!

Artist Daphne Guinness in McQueen . She paid A tribute to the late designer in her selection!

Tom Ford and Carolyn Murphy-Never date a man that is more striking than you! Carolyn is a Top Model-so.o.o.o I ask-does Tom Ford EVER have a bad hair day?

Fergie & Josh Duhamel- This dress looks fit for a …(wait for it) BRIDE. Fergie is even sporting a headpeice.

Beyonce and Jay Z- Proof positive that More is sometimes Too Much. It’s a salute to ALexander McQueen-The King of “Over the Top” ..SO we’ll let it slide-just this once!

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony- J.Lo-love you we do BUT not loving the flower shrug you added to the dress. Dress looks BIG… makes husband appear SMALL!

Donald & Melania Trump..(Melanie-Gorgeous..Donald-.All that money and this is the best you can do with your hair?)

Blake Lively & Karl Lagerfeld...Karl ..enough with the dark glass "indoors" and the gloves??
