The Monokini was “invented by Rudi Gemreich in the 1960’s. Rudi stated that he wanted to design a “unisex bikini with shoulder straps.” It seems like the Monokini is a swimsuit with an identity crisis-not a bikini, not a one piece? The Monokini must wonder-“Where do I fit in?” Fit my darling is the key in wearing the monokini-as in you better be fit! It’s not a fashion piece for the flabby or faint at heart.
