A Mother’s Day Message.

Mother’s Day is fast approaching. If you’re over the age of ten, you probably have Mother’s Day gift giving down to a science (shopping science that is)! Each year we are deluged with the “creative” gift options of Mother’s Day bouquets, Mothers Day limited edition jewelry (remember the ever popular Mother’s Day rings adorned with each child’s birthstone in a lovely? setting) and of course there is always the  luxury box of chocolates.

I’m all for giving wonderful Mother’s everywhere a day of devotion and some much needed adoration. May I suggest that with the assorted retail offerings it might be nice to think a bit “outside the box.” Let’s face it, when you run out to purchase the usual Mother’s day gift or better yet text-in your special order, I have to ask: How much effort does that really take?

Instead, consider creating a special memory /or moment for her to cherish.

  1. Blurb.com is  a great resource where you can easily design and  publish your own book. (Think a photo book of special events in Mom’s life or put into print  her favorite  family recipes with photgraphs . For additional ideas and samples go to: http://www.blurb.com
  2. Book a beauty treatment for Mom-There are so many resources for professional services including massage, manicures, pedicures and facials. You might want to have the professional come to her- for an in-home beauty treatment
  3. Short on cash-not a problem. Give Mom a homemade booklet of gift coupons to redeem throughout the year. Services could include: Cleaning out her closet/giving her  a manicure /cooking her favorite meal. Simple and easy gestures that would make her day a bit brighter throughout the year.

These are just a few very simple and thoughtful gifts that will help make Mom feel appreciated. If after all is said and done and you’re just not a “think outside the box”kind of   Glamour Girl- just remember there is always a little something “inside THE little blue box.”  Tiffany’s!
