Helena Bonham Carter-Helena says: "She doesn't dress for Fashion." Don't you love a girl with such strong convictions!
Jackie Weaver-Let's start with saying Congrats on your Oscar Nom..(trying to be nice here)..NOW about THAT Dress: Here are a few tips. When you are a woman of stature you want to embrace the V-neck..it will elongate. Also choose something that skims/glides over the body to show your shape (with the help of spanx-honey, even Halle Berry wears um...) and stay away from any type of poufiness on the lower body.Hope that helps. Any questions: CALL ME !
Isn’t nice to know that you can make a “fresh start” at anytime that you choose. If there is something you want to change…or do…or become… it can begin with a simple thought, that brings about an action toward your desired goal. On this beautiful Sunday, give yourself a fresh start to the week ahead.

Holiday travel is upon us! I wrote many months ago (gotoglamourgirl 5/31/09) about the importance of proper travel attire but for the sake of fashion and you, I want to reiterate again how important it is to make an effort to be presentable, when you travel “by any type of public transport” (i.e. airplane, trains etc.).My number one observation in airports is that people often confuse “comfortable” with some type of bedroom attire. Now I’m not talking bedroom attire as in the lush apparel that the Victoria’s Secret models are sporting BUT something closer to worn-out, ripped, torn flannel or outstretched knit. I am aware that travel can be a big hassle-(the long lines, security nightmares, delays, cramped seating etc.),BUT I’m begging you to throw out that over stretched Hello Kitty bottom and splurge on some great looking leggings or even a comfortable pair of black pants. As I mentioned previously-BLACK is truly the travel color of choice. With black bottoms in the form of a skirt, pant, denim or leggings… you can “Make it Work.” Your black bottoms are the perfect starting point for adding a knit top or sweater, and jacket. I strongly suggest a cashmere or wool scarf draped around your neck for added color, fashion and warmth-(planes are always cold) add a nice winter coat and your out the door in just minutes looking chic, comfortable and totally put together. Remember that UPGRADE is not only a term for better seating on the plane but for your clothing choices when you travel.
*Below note some A-list stars and their travel clothing choices.
The London Premiere of Nine took place last Thursday December 3. Did you get your invite? Neither did I!!! It must have got lost in the mail- perhaps it was sent by email-or is that reserved for entry into White House State Dinners!
Anyway-“most” of the cast was present for the Nine Premiere, minus Fergie (aka Ms. Josh Duhamel)-probably busy with some marriage counseling and Marion Cotillard…It didn’t appear that Sophia Loren was in attendance -but when you think about it… is Sophia going to show unless there is some honorary award given in her name. O.K. – I’ll tuck my claws back in and stay on the topic of fashion…Which by all accounts was FABULOUS with a capital F. Penelope Cruz was her usual gorgeous self, (nod your head and just “deal” that she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet and could probably wear a bag with some drawstring and look amazing). Then our dear Kate Hudson, stole the show in Atelier Versace. (Donatella’s Spring Couture line is beyond spectacular and I will be sure to cover the details in an upcoming blog Then there is Nicole-as in Kidman, the closest thing to a live mannequin because she is tall , and slim and EVERYTHING looks great on her. Finally, Dame Judi Dench who proves that you can look beautiful at any age wearing a perfectly cut flowing gown that made her look flawless! All in all I think the cast of Nine, gets a 10 for fashion!
Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz at Nine Premiere..Note to self: Never assume the camera isn't clicking... And..Kate...This was probably not the best time to do a breast self examination!
Is anyone else a tad disappointed by the fashion spread- or lack there of, for the upcoming movie Nine featured in the November issue of Vogue?
There I was standing at my mailbox eagerly retrieving the latest issue and low and behold splashed across the front cover is Nicole, Marion, Penelope and Kate for the upcoming movie Nine! (Still trying to figure out how Kate Hudson got cast in this musical extravaganza-but let’s stay on point shall we)…. As I flip through the pages with great anticipation to get a preview of the stars, the plot line and more importantly the costumes…I stop on page 225 to see a 2 page spread of the female stars. There they are: Dame Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Kate, Fergie, Nicole, Penelope and Sophia as in Loren-dressed in various styles of basic black dress. The photo is relaxed, inviting, almost in motion by their posture and gestures-surely there must be more! So I quickly turn the page and turn it again and again and again… NOTHING, NADA, ZIP!!! You must be kidding. In the same issue there is a 6 page spread on the Jimmy Choo line from H & M …. Not one more picture??? None of the cast or costumes or corsets….The movie is about seduction for God’s sake. Surely you have a corset or fishnet or stiletto to feature. This is Vogue. This is fashion. This is a Rob Marshall movie extravaganza with a “head spinning” line up of A list stars (Vogue headline)….
SO…I only have one other question …who pissed off Anna Wintour?
