I don’t know if you’ve noticed but plaid has been popping up everywhere lately. There are oodles of plaid patterns in fashion as of late and it’s not just on a kilt skirt. Far from it. Truth be told I think the late Alexander McQueen had something to do with making plaid popular. He took plaid up to a whole new level when he first designed plaid couture that was soooooo beautiful you couldn’t help but have a major penchant for plaid. Since that McQueen Collection in 2006 plaid is printed on a bevy of designer items including shoes, skirts, evening wear (you heard me YES even gorgeous gowns) and of course jackets, skirts, shirts and outwear. Now before I get all giddy over all the fabulous plaid fashion I must share a few plaid rules.
The Plaid Rules
Plaid Rule #1.-First up-know your plaids and by that I mean there are numerous plaid options and it’s a good rule of thumb to only wear one plaid print at a time.
Plaid Rule #2-Remember all plaids are not created equal. Larger plaids do NOT make you appear smaller in your rear view mirror. Like all prints… small sized plaids make an area appear smaller and larger plaids make you appear well-use your best judgment and when in doubt do a double check in the mirror.

Plaid Rule #3-Plaid prints make a statement so keep accessories simple but that doesn’t mean you have to abort the notion of some beautiful bling.
Plaid Rule #4.-Pair plaid with leopard. Because let’s face it leopard is a neutral and you can pair it with anything. LOVE!
