Miss Piggy gets Glam!

Who knew that dressing a Pig could be so.o.o.o.o. Glamorous! Last night on Project Runway All Stars, that exact task was given to the remaining 11 contestants. Michael came out the winner with a glitter and glamour short frock but truth be told I totally LOVED Rami’s polka dot confection. It seemed so perfect for “Moi” Piggy!(**Below are a few of my favorite designs from the night. Close up the detailing looks so much better than what you see on TV-wouldn’t you agree??)

Gordana was eliminated with her design for Ms. Piggy. The plain pink frock resembled a short nighty instead of a fabulous cocktail dress. So sorry to see you go.

Project Runway All Stars-Round 2

 The Project Runway All Stars

They’re back!!!! Remember in the last 9 seasons of Project Runway those select designers that we really liked, rooted for and hoped to heck they’d be spared from the Heidi ruling of “YOUR OUT!” Well lo and behold a number of them are returning to compete again in the latest offering by the Weinstein Company (the original producers of PR) entitled Project Runway All Stars. Back with their pins and needles perfectly poised are  designers: Austin Scarlett, Kara Janx, Elisa Jimenez, Rami Kashou, Sweet P/Kathleen Vaugh, Jerell Scott, Kenley Collins, Gordana Gelhausen, Anthony Williams, Mila Hermanovski, April Johnson, Michael Costello and Mondo Guerra.

Don’t think for a moment that  PR All Stars are coming back for what would look like a repeat performance of judgment by Heide, Michael and Nina. The All Star show has been retooled with a fresh group of eyes to access their designs. Leading the group  is host Angella Lindvall, designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman and fashion taste-maker and mentor, Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles.  “Guest” judges will include Miss Piggy, supermodel Miranda Kerr and musician and producer Pharrel Williams, and a number of other name celebs yet to be released.

The Weinstein Company have upped the prize ante for it’s All Stars: The winner will receive an exclusive boutique in select Neiman Marcus stores, $100,000 in technology and office space for their business, another $100,000 from L’Oreal Paris, a feature spread and one year guest editorial in Marie Claire and a sewing and embroidery studio.   With such an impressive list of prizes for the winner of Project Runway All Stars-it almost seems like a blessing that you lost Project Runwayin the first round.

Heidi Klum says: “In fashion you’re either in or you’re out…”  Project Runway All Stars seems to say: In life as in fashion you can turn failure into opportunity by seizing your second chance… Carpe Diem!!!
