A note about Fashion Star!

Photos of  Friday’s Fashion Star’s winning designs.

Are you watching Fashion Star? I am. This show is starting to be one of my fashion faves and why not-it’s got a bit of the “behind the scenes” design process, oodles of DRAMA.A.A.A and in the end… affordable fashion available to buy ASAP.

If you go on the store sites during the show you may be able to purchase one of the featured items BUT  just a little heads up if you are looking to purchase something on the Macy’s site and don’t have your finger on the “button to buy” before the show ends… you may find your desired item marked with SOLD OUT! Macy’s sells out usually before the show is over same with The Limited, where as Saks Fifth Avenue has a generous back stock and 9 times out of 10 usually able to fill your order.

***Just a little note for all you beautiful Glamour Girls looking to be your own Fashion Star.

Favorite Item:( so far) Silvia’s  Coatdress on episode one..

$280.00 at Saks.

Prayers Answered-4-Plus Size Couture!

Crystal Renn -A Beautiful Plus Size Model

Did you hear that? Listen…. It’s like the Hallelujah chorus singing for Plus Size Woman Everywhere. No, it’s not an echo from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York-but instead-it’s just across the street at Saks Fifth Avenue.  Saks has called on the fashion Gods: Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen  and many more ( “very high end designers”-with emphasis on high end..almost exclusively Couture…) to finally create clothing that  fits a  woman with curves. Saks Fifth Avenue will be the first retailer in the U.S. to carry this expanded line. The “average” American woman weighs 165 pounds and stands  a petite 5’4” -and yet the poor girl has no high end frocks to wear!!! SO many woman and so little design…it’s almost a sin!

Thank Goodness for Saks on Fifth Avenue in New York and all the  Fashion Gods, that have chosen to expand their vision beyond a size 12.

Amen!

**High End Designs for the plus size woman will be available only at Saks Fifth Avenue (New York) to start. If successful in New York- Saks will expand the line to reach other destinations nationwide…we can only pray this happens!
