Bridal Belt Bling

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion Fashion tips

There is one bridal trend of the last few years that I am crazy about (in a good way). It’s the addition of a beautiful rhinestone belt or sash to adorn an otherwise simple wedding gown. Here are a few fabulous examples to swoon over and the best part of this accessory is that you can wear it again and again after the wedding. Pair it with a simple short evening dress, long gown or a dressy skirt that needs a little oomph.  Yes, for my money there is nothing like a little bridal belt bring on everything!

Vera Wang’s Hollywood Adventure…

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

I just received my February Issue of Bazaar and it is HEAVEN!!! So much to see with Spring Fashion, an interview with Demi Moore, (Demi talks of living her life with strength and truth and how her guilty pleasure is watching Jersey Shore-which leaves me scratching my head about LVING with strength and truth and her TV choices…but I digress) and best of all an uber photo spread of designer Vera Wang in her newly purchased Beverly Hills digs. Vera states that she isn’t moving out of New York (even though her NY Penthouse is on the market… coincidence??) but just wanting to have a place to escape and relax.  Welcome Vera to the West Coast!

Leave it to Vera Wang –(the high priestess of designer wedding gowns )to put an end to the UGLY BRIDESMAID DRESS or as I refer to it as the UBD…

We all know that one of the biggest fashion myths going is the one about the bridesmaid dress that is so pricey you cringe when putting your credit card down but EVERYONE always says “Just cut it off to the knee after the wedding and you’ll be able to wear it again! NOT!!!!!!

Enter wedding designer genius Vera Wang to design a line for David’s Bridal. Appropriately named the White Collection by Vera Wang, it’s filled with some of the most beautiful bridal attire and accessories that will make you gush…We are talking spectacular wedding gowns, beautiful bridesmaid dresses that you can wear again and again plus a line of gorgeous accessories including bejeweled headwear, sash belts with sparkle and shoes.

Even if you’re not in the market for a bridesmaid dress or some accessories with sparkle you owe it to yourself to check out the offerings at:

Parkas at Vera Wang Fall 2011….

Category: Fashion Week

Vera Wang can class-up anything! Case in point is Vera’s recent fall 2011 collection filled with a fashionable assortment of PARKAS… (Yes, you are reading that right, I said parkas). This isn’t the parka of yesterday, made of polyester with down feathers enclosed in neat rows of casings that made everyone look like an overstuffed snowman but instead a high fashion parka  adorned with feathers or fur lining and made of the  finest wools and cashmeres.. Like I said…Vera Wang can class up anything!

Category: Designer Spotlight

Vera Wang is definitely the Grand Dame’ of delicate details.  Her Fall/Winter 2010 collection is a black on black extravaganza adorned with cascading pearls, fringe beading, jewel encrusted corsets, yards of tulle, fabulous fur and feminine flounces. One look at this collection and I just have 3 things to say…One: Black is SO NOT boring, Two: Love the entire collection-put me down for one of each Three: Never underestimate the design talent of Vera Wang.

Designer & Muse….

The Costume Institute American Women’s Gala, was held the other night in New York. Perhaps a better name for the evening might be “Designer and Muse, Designers and Clients or maybe even Designers and their Most Famous Friend”…It’s just a thought…but I digress…

It was a glamorous evening with a bevy of “Who’s Who” in the entertainment field dressed by the best fashion designers in the business.  If a designers famous friend was “busy” that night and couldn’t attend said Gala, then the designer just wore her own duds and called it an evening… I only regret that Babs couldn’t show up for Donna as in Karan-(their best friends) and Barbara could have belted out a few bars of People..who need people..)to really make the night complete….

Oprah and Oscar de la Renta wearing Oscar de la Renta Couture (my guess is that her gown was “custom made”)

Brooke Shield and Michael Kors wearing who else?? but Michael Kors

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhar Murad-My FAVORITE gown of the evening.

Tightening Your Belts!

Posted By: Terri
Category: Fashion

Yesterday was Tax Day in the U.S. of A. In case you found yourself writing an additional check to the government and feeling the need to tighten your belt…I thought it might be nice to feature a little belt bling (coutesy of Very Wang), to make that tightening a little less painful.

A fashion dream sequence:

So I’m zipping through the store right before close to find a “little” bauble to complete my outfit. Round and round I go, threading my way through every sparkling glass counter gleaming with pearls and platinum and gold. I’m starting to panic because I can’t seem to find just a simple little necklace. I’m not asking for the world am I? Just a classic 18 inch chain with perhaps a drop pearl or CZ or stone….

Wake up Dorothy! You’re not in Kansas anymore. Fall 2009 is brimming with baubles and they are BIG. No more simple little chains with a drop pearl or stone or CZ. We want glamour, we want glitz. We want a necklace that says “Hello Gorgeous!”(Please say this last phrase in your head like “Barbara would.”- and you do know which Barbara I mean-there is only one.)
